The Stanway School Schools & Colleges

Introduction
The Stanway School is a Secondary Foundation School with just over 1000 students aged from 11 to 16. The school has been awarded a humanities & maths & computing specialist college status. The school is named after the village in which is it situated. The village of Stanway is located three miles west of Colchester. Graham Coxon and Damon Albon, founding members of Blur, reportedly met at the school.

A recent Ofsted inspection reported that the school’s relationships with parents and the community are outstanding. They have strong links with local primary schools. Students make contributions to the community which the community returns. The school has a Youth Parliament which many of the students participate in.
