Introduction
Greensward Academy is a comprehensive independent academy with DCSF designated specialist school status located in Hockley. It has under 2000 student aged from 11 to 18. Hockley is a large village and civil parish in Essex, located between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea.
A recent Ofsted inspection stated that ‘this is an outstanding school that gets the best out of its students and ensures that they are suitably equipped to enter the further education or the world of work’. A large proportion of students take roles as counillors, prefects, peer mentors and sports leaders. They are continuing in gaining high GCSE results, which is down to both the teachers’ enthusiasm spreading to the students and the students responding very well to the high expectations. |
