Hello everyone, I am very excited to be giving my first blog on our new website! Stephen and Patrick have done a fantastic job – well done!
My name is Loran and I am a Project Administrator in the BSF Team. I joined the BSF Team back in March on a temporary assignment through a recruitment agency (call it fate!!) and after a gruelling interview process I was offered a permanent position within the BSF Team at the beginning of September.
As you may be aware the Bidders submitted their Final Bids on Thursday 3rd December, and I was managing the process of recieving the bids and distributing the appropriate documentation to the project team. This was both a very exciting and very busy time. Both sets of the Bids were delivered in the morning and taken to our office – we had in excess of 30 boxes spread across the office. For those who visited our office on Thursday I’m sure you will agree the office was a sea of boxes. Stephen took a photo (which will be uploaded shortly) showing me in amongst the boxes trying to get organised!! Once we cleared some space and reclaimed some desk space it was all go distributing the Bid to the over 70 people, including evaluators, Councillors and Team Members. Everyone was keen to receive their copies as soon as possible to start reading and evaluating the Bids. The day went very smoothly and as promised the Bids were ready to collect Thursday afternoon. However the hard work was far from over as the hard copies of the Bid needed to be housed for easy use of reference. This took the remainder of the day and much of Friday too.
Once completed and (almost) back to normality we all felt a huge sense of achievement of how far the process has come and how much hard work everyone has put in. We are almost at the end of the bidding process, with preferred Bidder will be selected on 2nd February 2010.
On Tuesday 15th December, I will be attending a Public Exhibition at The Deanes School – one of our Wave 5 Schools – which I am really looking forward to. It will be a chance to show the local community plans of the outline proposals for the School and it will also be a chance to receive comments from the community. For further information please contact the BSF Team.
